How To Find Natural Sunscreen Products
With more and more people these days realizing the harmful effects the sun has on their skin, the use of sunscreen is considered by many as the best way to help them protect themselves from this. Recent findings however show that a lot of the sunscreen products you find in the market today are made with harmful chemicals that can do you more harm than good and can actually cause skin cancer – the very thing you are avoiding with the use of sunscreen in the first place.
This is where natural sunscreen products come in. The use of natural sunscreen products is being promoted these days by a lot of people since it is seen as a better and safer alternative to the sunscreens that contain cancer-causing chemicals in them. Some of the latest sunscreen products that claim to have natural ingredients in them to help protect you from the harmful damages of the sun say that they use ingredients like green tea extract and natural minerals like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. While the last two ingredients mentioned are actually chemical compounds, these are still considered natural ingredients since these substances occur or can be found naturally in nature. Zinc oxide is considered to be the safer alternative of the two and can be used to create your own sunscreen, if you cannot find any natural sunscreen products in the stores near you. You can do this by combining your favorite organic and naturally made lotion with some zinc oxide powder and voila! You now have your own natural sunscreen lotion.
If you want to prevent further skin damage from overexposure to the sun, you should also consider other “natural” sunscreen products that do not require you to smear anything on your face or body. Some of the “natural” alternatives you can use to help protect yourself from the harmful rays of the sun include clothing that can protect your skin from the rays of the sun. This includes long sleeved shirts made out of breathable materials like cotton, protective broad brimmed hats and visors and clothes made with the use of sun-protective fabrics. You can also try to use other natural products around you to help protect you from the sun and these include such items like shea butter, which is known to have a 6 SPF, fresh aloe vera gel, which is often used to treat sunburns and to soothe the skin, and jojoba oil which has protective properties your skin can benefit from.
